Mentoring, Leadership, or Personal Deepening
A powerful way to enhance your own spiritual practice is to share it with others.
Opportunities to demonstrate leadership happen each moment of our lives. Leadership is not a title. It does not require a team. It is being willing to know who we are with each thought and feeling. It is our intentional presence, our mindfulness. It is being willing to start with my Self.
Jon Mason, June 1, 2005
The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.

Mary is offering training for students who wish to share the dharma as a spiritual practice, for enriching their professional work through the teachings, and for deepening their own spiritual practice.
Ways of serving the dharma will vary depending on experience. The most important of these and foundational to all else is committment to and deepening of one's own spiritual evolution. Participants with many years of practice, ongoing work with a teacher, and coniderable retreat experience will teach courses as spiritual practice for the sangha or with Mary in secular settings.
The training requires a committment of one year at a time, participation in two practice retreats a year (at least one with Mary), an ongoing relationship through monthly individual interviews and, if living in Houston, participation in periodic Monday or Thursday sittings and courses.
Mary requests Dana for this Guiding Role rather than charging fees if participants are also interested in building community.
If you are new to vipassana practice see our community website for beginning coures: Insight Meditation Community Houston.
Application for Mentoring and Leadership Training: 2009 sangha applications due by August 15, 2008.
Private mentoring training is available year round.
